Summary
In the article the analysis of scientific researches of foreign and authors concerning the definition of the phenomenon of leadership is done. An attempt to generalize various interpretations of term "leadership" is made. Divergences between the concepts of ‘'leader” and "manager" are researched. Essential characteristics of a leader’s figure and peculiarities of their realization in modern conditions are investigated.
