Summary

The article considers the problem of implementation in practice the language and literature`s teachers of storytelling as an innovative promising technique for the formation of students` language competence in secondary school. Storytelling is the method by which not only the language competency of students im-proves, but it can also be used as a form of auditory learning: one student tells, and other student listens. This technique allows to implement the learning process in educational institutions on fundamentally different methodological approaches with extensive use of multimedia forms of supplying teaching material. The rules, features, views, forms and other methodological characteristics of storytelling discussed, the basic elements of digital «storytelling» outlined, and also basic software tools to create digital storytelling referred.
