Theses consider the problem of professional self-development of a teacher in the period of changes. Emphasis is placed on the phenomena of tolerance and intolerance to uncertainty on the way of self-realization of the teacher. The results of various studies that indicate correlations between tolerance for uncertainty and emotional intelligence are presented. The author emphasizes the need to perceive uncertainty through openness to new experiences and the development of emotional intelligence as a basic component for successful professional self-realization.
