Summary
Theses are devoted to one of the cross-cutting skills of students of the New Ukrainian School - "reading comprehension". The author suggests that teachers use new types of learning activities in language and literature lessons that will help students understand the texts that children read in class and in extracurricular activities. Methodical advice on summarizing according to the method of Bill Gates and Cornell as methods of condensing texts in order to visualize educational information for better and more effective perception. There are also brief recommendations for creating chench- and close-tests as methods of supplementing or restoring the texts read. These rather new and effective methodical methods of meaningful reading of texts by students in the lesson will help students to improve the through skill of "reading comprehension".
