Summary
The article deals with the fist results of the regional environmental project «Introduction and adaptation of рaulownia tomentosa in the areas of Mykolaiv region secondary schools». This project was initiated and organized by researchers of the Department of Sciences, Mathematics and Information Technology (Mykolaiv In-Service Teachers Training Institute). The biological features of рaulownia tomentosa, as well as the adaptation process of this plant, are considered. The optimal conditions for growing Paulownia tomentosa have been clarifid and recommendations to take care of this promising plant have been provided. Since the fist results of the environmental project with Paulownia are positive», Pavlovnia was proposed for landscaping the yard of schools in Mykolaiv region. The prospect is further studying the biological characteristics of рaulownia tomentosa and enriching the local flra with useful plants. The only limiting factor for the introduction of this plant is the low frost resistance, which increases signifiantly with its age.
