Summary

The scientific-methodological article substantiates the relevance of the problem of preserving the health of students and teachers during the educational process and reviews the scientific and psychological-pedagogical literature on the development of health-preserving competence of modern Ukrainian educators in accordance with the New Ukrainian School reform. The purpose of the study is to reveal the features of the development of health-preserving competence of teachers during advanced training courses in the system of postgraduate pedagogical education. The emphasis is placed on the impact of Russian aggression on the health of participants in the educational process. The definition of the concept of the teacher’s health-preserving competence in scientific sources is analyzed, the professional standard of the teacher is taken into account, and the challenges and peculiarities of the work of Ukrainian teachers caused by the transition to distance education and the events of uncertainty in the conditions of the war are taken into account. The actual understanding of the concept of the «teacher's health-preserving competence» is presented, and its interpretation is revealed. The conditions for the development of the teacher’s health-preserving competence are clarified, namely internal (personal health-preserving competence, which acts as a driving force) and external conditions, particularly the need for professional development and external challenges and conditions of uncertainty. The conditions for the development of the teacher’s health-preserving competence in postgraduate education institutions have been clarified. For the development of the personal and professional health-preserving competence of the teacher, scientific and methodological support is offered in the system of postgraduate pedagogical education of Mykolaiv In-Service Teachers Training Institute: the «ProHealth» project; competence-activity-selective modules; and the author’s program of professional development courses for teachers of general secondary education institutions, «The Value-Ethical Component: Health-Preserving Competence of the Teacher».
