Summary
The formation of socio-civic competence of preschoolers is one of the priority educational areas of activity of pedagogical teams of preschool educational institutions. It is important for the teacher to know and apply forms, methods, and means that contribute to the development of personal qualities of students. Their social feelings, the upbringing of love for their native land, small homeland, and inclusion in socially useful activities. The methodological and didactic manual collects information of a local history nature for children of middle and senior preschool age: poems, fairy tales, legends, riddles, etc. about people and monuments of the Mykolaiv region; samples of didactic games, presentations, videos, and cartoons are provided with the aim of forming socio-civic competence of preschoolers. The publication is addressed to teachers of preschool educational institutions, students of pedagogical colleges, higher education institutions studying preschool education, teachers of ethnography groups for children of middle and senior preschool age, and parents.
