THE «HARMONY» CREATIVE WORKSHOP AS A SPACE FOR DEVELOPING PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE OF TECHNOLOGY AND LABOUR EDUCATION TEACHERS

Summary
The methodological article elucidates the activities of the regional creative workshop «Harmony» as an effective form of continuous professional development for teachers of Technology / Labour Education. It has been established that the methodological foundation of the workshop’s operation is the use of theoretical frameworks, as well as the development and practical implementation of modern educational, upbringing, and developmental technologies. The components of professional competence of a Technology (Labour Education) teacher and effective tools for its development are identified. The principles for selecting the topics for the regional creative workshop sessions and the development of the content of practical tasks for participants are revealed. It is emphasized that a practice-oriented approach is central to the development of teachers’ professional competence. The principles for selecting topics for the regional creative workshop sessions and the development of the content of practical assignments for participants are further elaborated. The possibilities of using the workshop materials in the educational process for Technology (Grades 5–9) are demonstrated. An algorithm for forming learning content is proposed, based on the diagnosis of teachers’ actual needs and determination of topics based on the State Standard of Education, curricula, and textbooks. It includes the following steps: defining goals/objectives, selecting material in accordance with age characteristics, structuring based on the principle of sequence (from simple to complex), and ensuring interdisciplinary connections. The stages for conducting a workshop session are also proposed.
