Summary
The proposed methodological material represents a possible and effective way of forming meaningful readings of works of art in students in lessons of development of coherent speech in the process of studying the literary heritage of different peoples, which reveals the distinctive culture of Ukrainians, Englishmen and affirms common spiritual values. The methodological development of the lesson presented below is based on the program of foreign literature for students of 5-6 grades according to the scientific and pedagogical project «Intellect of Ukraine» (the authors: Gavrish I. V., Guchenko O. V., and Martynovets S. M.). During the development of the lesson, the author's technology of constructing a model of a competency-based activity lesson by Vasyl Ivanovich Shulyar, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, and Honoured Teacher of Ukraine, was used.
